"The trial will be conducted after the court sets the dates, this is the next stage of the e-KTP graft saga," said Febri.
Andi is the third defendant to be brought to trial. Andi is allegedly the person who organized the e-KTP card project, starting from the budget discussion, the determination of the bidwinner, all the way to the procurement. Several witnesses said Andi was a close friend of Setya Novanto.
To date, the antigraft body has named three people as suspects in the e-ID card corruption case. They are the Home Affairs Ministry's former director general of population and civil registration Irman, the same directorate's former director of information management and administration Sugiharto, and Andi Narogong a.k.a. Andi Agustinus—a businessman affiliated with the consortium of the e-ID card project.
Both have been sentenced to seven years and five years of imprisonment respectively after the court decided that they are proven guilty of abusing their authority to enrich themselves and others, causing a state loss of Rp2.3 trillion.
