TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi expressed his appreciation to Persib Bandung and Persija supporters, known as Viking and Jakmania, for initiating a truce.

The two supporter groups have always clashed with each other whenever their favorite football teams compete in a match.

“Thank you, Viking and Jakmania. You will be at the forefront in restoring the spirit of peace between Indonesian football supporters,” Imam said on Tuesday, August 1.

Imam has ordered the Ministry’s secretary to invite representatives of the supporters to prepare a truce between the two supporter groups. 

“Today I invite representatives from the football clubs, The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), The Indonesian New League (LIB), and the National Police to discuss the technicality of the truce,” Imam Nahrawi added.
