TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 30 units of Transjabodetabek buses are operated in Bekasi, West Java, on Thursday, July 27, 2017. The mass transportation owned by Perum PPD serves the route of Summarecon Bekasi-Bundaran HI.
"The special offer today is, starting at 06:00-08:00 the rides are free," said Head of Public Relations Division of Perum PPD, Arga Narendra when met by Tempo at the location of departure of Transjabodetabek, Summarecon Bekasi, Thursday, July 27, 2017.
Arga said, Transjabodetabek this year is different from what launched previously. What distinguishes this time, he said, the buses are getting escorted with Voorijder. "In order to travel quickly and efficiently, not to get stuck in traffic," he said.

Arga said, the travel time from the point of departure to the destination location normally can last up to two hours. However, with the presence of special escorts, the duration can be cut up to 70 percent. "During the first test run, the duration was reduced by 50 percent, our target is 70 percent," he said.
According to Arga, Transjabodetabek is different from Transjakarta from Bekasi, although both buses depart from Summarecon Bekasi. Transjabodetabek, he said, after it reaches the exit toll, it will use the main arterial route. "If Transjakarta goes its own way," Arga said.
According to Arga, the pilot phase is a socialization stage for public transport users. Therefore, not many passengers are using the mode of transportation. Meanwhile, this morning the number of passengers which are departing from Summarecon are as many as 20 people. "Passengers are not only from here, the amount of passengers will increase at other bus stops," Arga said.
Based on the Tempo observation at 08.30 WIB, dozens of Transjabodetabek bus units lined the Summarecon Bekasi area, precisely behind the Transjakarta bus stop. When Tempo was there for 20 minutes, no passengers appeared.
