Soekarno-Hatta Airport Skytrain Commences Operations Next Month

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport unmanned Skytrain project will commence operations next year, state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II said yesterday.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport latest mode of transport that boasts automated people mover system (APMS) technology will be trialed in early August or next week.

Angkasa Pura II spokesman Yado Yarismano said that the first phase will see the operations of two Skytrain carriages with a capacity of 176 people from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3.
Skytrain is equipped with automated guideway transit (AGT) system with self-propelled rubber tires. It can travel at 60 kilometers per hour.
