TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The KPK workers association has urged the police to move fast to crack down on an acid attack against KPK investigator Novel Baswedan. Yesterday marked the 100th day since the attack took place.
“If [the police] fail to uncover it in the next 100 days, we want an establishment of a fact-finding team or [we will] report the incident as an extraordinary crime,” the KPK workers’ association official Yadyn said yesterday, July 20, at the KPK building in relation to the attack against Novel Baswedan.

The KPK chief Agus Rahardjo said that his office, together with the police, has yet to question the KPK investigator in Singapore. “I will accompany [Novel]. But there is no fixed schedule yet,” he said.
Agus said that at the next meeting with the police, the anti-graft agency expects to be informed about the status or latest development of the case. He is hopeful that the police chief General Tito Karnavian has found witnesses in the case.
“I hope that information has been collected from witnesses which will be completed with the questioning in Singapore,” the KPK chief said.
Novel Baswedan was attacked by unidentified men on April 11 after performing the early morning prayer near his house. The investigator is currently recovering from injuries to his eyes.
