GP Ansor Reaffirms Commitment to Stand Against Radicalism

TEMPO.COBalikpapan - The youth wing of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) GP Ansor has reaffirmed its commitment to fight against any forms of radicalism. GP Ansor claims that they are ready to guard Indonesia against radical groups having the intention to change this country’s ideology Pancasila.

"Our obligation is to nurture diversity and fight against radicalism. It is our jihad (battle) to fight those who attempt to disrupt diversity," Jakarta GP Ansor secretary Dendy Finsa said in Jakarta on Friday, July 14.

He affirmed that the duty of all Indonesians is to preserve unity. "We have to be united, do not be divided, because unity makes Indonesia," he said.

Related to the issue of the regulation in the lieu of law (Perppu) on Mass Organizations, he said, "It has to be appreciated, even though it is a little bit too late because we are already surrounded by radicalism."
