“Although I’m not sure when it would be signed,” said Johan on Tuesday, July 11.
In contrast, Nahdlatul Ulama chairman, Said Aqil, revealed that Jokowi had already ratified the legislation following a meeting that took place between them yesterday. Said claimed that the new government regulation will be officially announced today.
Although Johan denounced that statement by saying that the President himself will not announce it, rather it would be tasked to the Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Wiranto.
It was Wiranto who officially announced the plan to disband HTI in May 8.

Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) isn’t the only mass-organizations that the government plans to disband. President Jokowi had publicly stated in several occasions that he would act assertively against mass-organizations that attempt to change Indonesia’s constitution.
“I will not tolerate fundamental matters such as this. I will abolish them with a legal corridor (such as government regulation),” said Jokowi on May.
