TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Regarding 600 Indonesians affiliated to ISIS, the Immigration office said that it had received their data from the police.

"So we help monitor if these names enter or leave Indonesia," spokesperson of Justice and Human Rights Ministry’s directorate general of immigration Agung Sampurno said in Jakarta on Friday, July 7.

However, Agung continued, monitoring is difficult to carry out if the suspects use unofficial travel routes.

Therefore, to maximize monitoring, Indonesia Immigration work together with the authorities of neighboring to share information regarding the most-wanted lists (DPO) or the alleged ISIS terrorists including with countries which are the destinations of the terrorists such as Syria, Iraq or Turkey, Agung explained.

In addition, the data of Indonesia’s most-wanted list are integrated with the Interpol to expand information sharing. "We also have immigration cooperation forum to share information," he said. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) also closely keep an eye on ISIS-related suspects who spread radicalism.
