TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former KPK leader views that the special committee for the inquiry right against KPK has shown questionable gestures by visiting corruption convicts.
The former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leader Busyro Muqoddas argues that the special committee would not find anything useful during their trip there.
“Their visit there has no legal reason. The inmates’ status is proven to be legally binding. What are they looking for?” said Busyro on Thursday, July 6.

He claims the act only shows that the special committee is clueless. He suggested the committee to instead focus on attitudes that could support the people to be free from corruption.
The special committee for the right of inquiry against KPK claims that they visited the Sukamiskin penitentiary to collect statements from corruption convicts there. The special committee is making sure that the convict’s rights have not been violated throughout their legal process.

Deputy Chairman of the special committee Risa Mariska stated that they are prepared to receive criticism regarding their trip to meet corruption convicts at the penitentiary.
