TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck off Jayapura city yesterday at 9:22 pm local time, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
The epicenter of the earthquake was at 2.46 degrees south latitude and 140.72 degrees east longitude or 9 kilometers northwest of Jayapura at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The quake was felt in north Jayapura. As of press time, there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
On Tuesday afternoon, different regions were also hit by earthquake: Southwest Sumba, Wakatobi and West Sumatra.
