Ricky Prayoga was covering badminton competition Indonesia Open Series at Jakarta Convention Center. He was heading to an ATM when he exchanged stares with a Brimob member. Ricky asked the cop what’s wrong with his look because the latter had continued to stare at him.
The cop did not give a satisfactory answer prompting Ricky to ask further. Instead, the journalist was dragged and strangled by the cop. The latter also tried to slam the former’s body.
Meidyatama said that her current priorities are Ricky’s health and safety. “Thereafter, we will confirm the timeline of the incident and the causes,” she said. She will decide on the next steps to be taken following the incident.
On a separate occasion, Ricky said that his physical condition was good despite aches. “My physique is fine.” He said that the aches might be caused by being dragged by the Brimob member.
