TEMPO.CO, Banyuwangi - Tourism Minister Arief Yahya encouraged Banyuwangi Regional Administration, East Java, to focus on developing the tourism sector. It is aimed at boosting trade and investment sectors in the region.
Arief Yahya claimed that trade, tourism, and investment sectors are interrelated. Each of the sectors exerts a strong effect on the development of the other sectors.

"I believe Banyuwangi has better opportunities if they prioritize tourism sector. I am certain that when tourism sector is strong, trade and investment sectors will follow suit," he said on Friday, June 16.
Arief Yahya explained that tourism sector also offers more advantages compared to other sectors since it generates foreign exchange gains faster and creates new employment opportunities. In addition, the cost involved in the development of tourism sector is lower.
That is why tourism sector will be the core economy to Indonesia in the future because it is the most sustainable commodity. It accommodates low-income citizens and its performance rises every year.
