TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Fair organizing committee chief Prajna Murdaya is targeting Rp6.5 trillion transactions in this year edition.
“Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2017 expects to see over 5.7 million visitors with business transactions between expo participants and visitors in excess of Rp6.5 trillion,” Prajna said yesterday in the opening of Jakarta Fair at Jakarta International Expo, Central Jakarta.

The figure is way above last year’s edition achievement of Rp6.1 trillion transactions and 5.7 million visitors.
In 2012, some 4.5 million people visited Jakarta Fair, generating Rp4trillion transactions. The figure increased in 2013 with a total visitor of 4.8 million people and business transactions amounting to Rp4.5 trillion.
In 2014 and 2015 editions, the number of visitors hit 5 million and 5.2 million, respectively. Jakarta Fair 2014 saw Rp5 trillion business transactions and the 2015 edition garnered Rp5.8 trillion.
Prajna said that the biggest transactions in Jakarta Fair were generated from the sales of automobile and motorcycles and their accessories, followed by phones and other electronic products.
Jakarta Fair 2017 features 2,700 participants occupying 1,500 stands comprising national and international companies, large companies, SMEs, state-owned enterprises, as well as pavilions of provinces and districts in the archipelago.
The participants will showcase products of various industries, namely automotive and motorcycle, information technology, computers, sports equipment, fashion and garment, home appliances, furniture, electronic devices, culinary, creative industry, handicraft, herbal & medicine, banking, service products and cosmetics.
