TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government has extended Eid al-Fitr public holiday from June 23 to June 30.
The decision signed by President Jokowi on June 15 also stated that the public holiday will not decrease the number of annual leave days for civil servants.
The decision is aimed at realizing efficiency and effectiveness of working days and providing guidelines for government institutions related to the 2017 public holidays.
Earlier, the National Police proposed Friday, June 23, 2017, as a public holiday to provide more alternatives for the public to choose the day to return their hometowns and to minimize traffic jams.
