TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta City-owned bus service TransJakarta employees have gone on strike today over wages.
“I cannot give any information, please ask the head office. A meeting is being held there between employees and the company,” said an attendant of TransJakarta bus stop in Kampung Rambutan.

The attendant, who spoke on condition of anonymity, apologized to the passengers for disrupted services.
Rasidi, a passenger from Banten, said that customers are upset over the strike. “An announcement should have been issued before the strike so that I could find other modes of transport,” he said angrily.
Most of TransJakarta passengers turned their attention to regular buses or motorcycle taxis (ojek). Some, however, were patient enough to wait for TransJakarta to resume operations.
At around 10:30 am all TransJakarta buses were parked on the east side of Kampung Rambutan bus stop. Only at 12:05 the bus station was opened and buses started operations.
