Govt Urges Youth to Avoid Negative Contents in Social Media

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Communication and Informatics urges social media users to keep clear of negative contents. The ministry calls on the young generation to join the competition dubbed Kompetisi Konten Kreatif Bhinneka itu Kita (Creative Content Competition of We Are Diverse).

“The Ministry of Informatics and Communication wants to motivate the younger generation to conserves the country’s diversity,” says Directorate General for Public Communication and Information, Rosnita Niken Widiastuti.

As many as 1,930 people, consists of students and the general public, participate the competition. It has a number of popular categories among the youth.

Rosita is surprised to see that today’s generation has a high level of nationalism which, in her point of view, is opposite to what she presumed.

The Ministry also launches website Indonesiabaik.id that provide videos with positive contents. They hope the positive contents available on social media would overwhelm the negative contents.
