TEMPO.CO, London - Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar Muhamad Basri Sidehabi has urged Indonesian diaspora in Qatar to keep calm, vigilant and continue to follow the latest development of security situation in the country.
There is no need to overreact considering security condition in Qatar is still under control, an official of Indonesian Embassy in Doha Boy Dharmawan said today.

Sidehabi explained his decree over the severence of diplomatic relations of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt and Yaman with Qatar, during a meeting with Indonesians in Al Khor Community, Alkhor city, around 60 km from the capital city, Doha, on Tuesday.
Diaspora leader Said Malawi, also an employee of oil and gas company Qatar Gas, who has lived for two decades in Al Khor, said that most Indonesian expert workers live in Al Khor Community, which is believed to house the largest Indonesian diaspora population in the world.

The visit to Al Khor was an effort from Indonesian Embassy to show Indonesians in Qatar that political and security situations in the country are running normally.
"The ambassador will be the last person to leave Qatar. The political situation has been the same since 2014 so people don’t have to worry," Sidehabi said.
