Tornadoes Hit Dozens of Houses in Sukabumi

TEMPO.CO, Sukabumi - Sukabumi Disaster Mitigation Agency, West Java, stated that dozens of houses in Kampung Nangerang and several public facilities were damaged as they were hit by tornadoes.

Head of Sukabumi BPPD Operation Control Yana Rusyana said in Sukabumi on Sunday (4/6) that based on current data, the tornadoes caused damage to 11 houses and one posyandu or health integrated services in Kampung Babakansari, Puri Iska housing complex. Most of the houses had similar damage to the roof and some other parts.

He explained that the tornadoes began from hot and sunny weather on Saturday (3/6), but it turned to heavy rain as it reached fast breaking time and not long after tornadoes hit the area. The

Up to this moment, BPBD, volunteers and Cicurug district leadership assembly (Muspika) are still collecting data and categorizing the damage. He added that there is no one injured in the incident, only losses due to damage to the houses.
