TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police arrested two individuals suspected of being involved in the Kampung Melayu bomb attack, according to National Police spokesperson Insp. Gen Setyo Wasisto.

“Both men contacted the suspects one day before the attack,” Setyo said on Tuesday, May 30.

Setyo explained that police arrested a man with the initials, AS, at Bambu Apus, Cipayung, East Jakarta.

“Ahmad Sukri met this person on May 23,” Setyo said.

Ahmad Sukri handed over a motorcycle to “R” alias “B”. On Tuesday noon, police also arrested “BF” at a house in the same area.

“They kept the motorcycle that was handed over by Ahmad Sukri,” Setyo explained.

National Police’s head of public relation Sr. Comr. Martinus Sitompul said that both men knew Ahmad Sukri since they met several times.  According to Martinus, investigators will dig deeper into the meetings.

Martinus revealed that police have apprehended eight people suspected of being involved in the bombings.

“We have let two people go,” he said.

This means that the National Police have three to seven days to investigate the remaining six suspects and their status and decide whether they will be named as suspects or not.
