Golkar National Meeting to Discuss 2019 Presidential Election

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The national working meeting of the Golkar Party is set to discuss the preparation for the 2019 Presidential Election, the 2018 simultaneous regional elections as well as to discuss the latest political situation, according to Chairman of the meeting Nurdin Halid.

According to Nurdin, in the discussion about the preparation of the 2019 Presidential Election, the Golkar party would set up the election winning board (Bapilu), starting at the central level, provincial level and regency/municipality level.

The party, he added, will also carry out the recruitment process for the legislative members candidate for the 2019 election.

“This requirement process has bee done by the party before the election begins,” Nurdin said.

As for presidential election candidate, Nurdin said based on the result of the meeting done in November last year, the party has decided to nominate President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo in the 2019 presidential election.
