Indonesian-Australian Designers Collaboration Enchants Sydney

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe collaboration of five Indonesian fashion designers and a leading Australian designer at the Second "IndonesiaBeautiful" has captivated people from both countries, especially those in Sydney.

A statement from the Consul of Information, Social and Cultural Affairs at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Sydney, H. Dimara, received by Antara here on Sunday mentioned that the fashion promotional event of IndonesiaBeautiful2, was held on May 11-13, 2017 in Little Bay, about 15 km from Sydney.

IndonesiaBeautiful featured several programs including a fashion show of Indonesian and Australian designers' fashions on Friday (May 12).

The five fashion designers from Indonesia are Ariy Arka, Dana Duryatna, Erdan Mardani, Komarudin Kudiya, and Tudi Adib. Meanwhile, a designer from Australia is Jenny Kee, who is also an Australian fashion icon in the 1980s.

"The collaboration between Indonesia and Australia in the sector of creative economy is growing rapidly, and has become one of the important pillars for both countries," Indonesian Consul General in Sydney, Yayan G.H. Mulyana, stated at the opening ceremony of IndonesiaBeautiful2.

The works of the designers were showed by 32 female and male models who voluntarily participated in the event. They come from various professions and nationalities.

The collaboration of Indonesian and Australian designers at IndonesiaBeautiful2 proves the strong cooperation between the two countries in the field of fashion, which is one of the important sectors in the creative industry.

The collaboration is also a great opportunity to explore business collaboration, and a forum of mutual learning between Indonesian and Australian fashion designers.
