TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian people`s voice party (Parsindo) declared to endorse Hutomo Mandala Putra, better known as Tommy Soeharto, for the 2019 presidential election. Parsindo Chairman Jusuf Rizal says that the party is aimed at realizing Sukarno’s dreams and continue the development in Soeharto’s era.

The party believes that Tommy will be able to bring back the atmosphere of life existed under Soeharto’s regime, considering that 18 years of reform has not made the people of Indonesia happier.

“We found this figure in Tommy. He is a nationalist with integrity and lives in a family with leadership visions,” Jusuf said on Thursday, May 11.

He admits that Tommy still always be related to his father’s leadership throughout the country’s highly controversial New Order era. “In fact, the weaknesses in the New Order must be used as a lesson in the future,” Jusuf said.

Parsindo issued a member card (KTA) as a requirement to get through General Election Commission's (KPU) verification for the 2019 presidential election. Jusuf hopes it would act as a stimulant for the public to join in the political party.
