TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will coordinate with the National Police (Polri) in relation to the arrest of an alleged attacker of KPK senior investigator Novel Baswedan.

“The KPK and Polri have been in communications in relation to the case. We’ll wait for an announcement from Polri. Based on the Criminal Law Procedures (KUHAP), there will be a time between the arrest and the suspect naming. The KPK is waiting for the official announcement,” KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah told Tempo via a text message today, May 11.

According to Febri, the KPK expressed gratitude to Polri for maintaining cooperation to this date. “We hope that the arrest will lead to the exposure of the brain of the attack against the KPK investigator,” he added.

“The Jakarta Police is conducting an investigation [into the case] and has made an arrest of a man by initial AL,” Polri spokesperson Insp. Gen. Setyo Wasisto said in Jakarta yesterday.
