TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Energy and Mineral Resource Minister Ignasious Jonan and Danish Minister for Development Cooperation Ulla Tørnæs today launched the Indonesian Wind Resource Map.
Minister Tørnæs said that the renewable energy cooperation marks the partnership between Denmark and Indonesia. She added that Denmark has pledged its support for Indonesia to achieve the target of 23-percent renewable energy use by 2025.
According to Jonan, the map is available to the public. Jonan also expects that it will help the government and business owners to determine potential regions for wind turbine constructions.
Moreover, Jonan and Tørnæs met to strengthen business to business cooperation between Indonesia and Denmark. Jonan added the meeting was also aimed at encouraging business cooperation between the two countries in joint energy projects and financing.
Data from the Energy Ministry shows that Danish firms interested in investing in Indonesia include Siemens Wind Power, Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor, Vestas Wind System, Dong Energy, Welltec, and Babcock & Wilcox Volund.
Tørnæs also expressed that the country is eyeing public-private cooperation in the fields of energy, forestry, water and waste management, among others.
