TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The world’s largest port operator company, CK Hutchison Holdings Limited, has stated its commitment to add its investment in Indonesia. It was issued by CK Hutchison Holdings owner Li Ka-Shing who met with President Joko Widodo in Hong Kong yesterday, May 1.
“They’re committed to expanding their investment in Indonesia,” says Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi. The meeting between Jokowi with Li Ka-Shing was held on the sidelines of the President’s official work visit schedule in Hong Kong.
As one of the largest port operator companies in the world, Minister Retno said CK Hutchison Holdings’ investment has amounted to US$10 billion.
The company owns 51 percent or the majority of the share in Hutchison Port Indonesia, which is the port operator of Tanjung Priok, while 49 percent of the rest are owned by state-owned port operator PT Pelindo II.
Hutchison’s 2019 contract has been extended for another 20-year and this time, the state-owned port operator will acquire the share majority, which is 51 percent.
Retno said that CK Hutchison views Indonesia has a huge potential. Therefore, the company committed to adding its investment value in Indonesia.
