Jakarta Administration Deploy Personnel to Guard Kalijodo Park

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police, Military and Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) personnel were deployed to secure the child-friendly integrated public space (RPTRA) and Green Open Space (RTH) Kalijodo in North Jakarta in a bid to address illegal parking.
“The personnel that we deployed are from village, district, and city administrations,” Penjaringan district head Mohammad Andri said at Kalijodo, Jakarta, on Monday, May 1, 2017.
According to Andri, the city administration will deploy 40 Satpol PP personnel guarding the park in two shifts, from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day.
In order to address parking issues, Andri added, the Jakarta Transportation deploy 10 personnel. The agency also works with police and military by deploying 10 military personnel and 10 police officers.
“In total, there are 70 personnel deployed every day,” Andri explained.
Jakarta deputy governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat was furious with the illegal parking issue occurred at Kalijodo Park. Djarot said that he would take a firm action against thugs at Kalijodo Park. Djarot reminded them that he and Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok are still leading Jakarta until October.
“We’re still governor and deputy governor until October. We’ll take firm actions against anyone who tries to take advantage [of our defeat in the Jakarta Gubernatorial Election],” Djarot said.
