President Joko Widodo and Donald Trump to Meet at ASEAN Summit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry will follow up bilateral cooperation with the government of The United States. Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi said that next month, a meeting will be held in Washington DC to discuss the realization of the cooperation.
"Trade and investment will be tha main issue of discussion," Retno Marsudi said in Jakarta (21/4). Retno added that he two countries will strengthen cooperation strategies as the result of bilateral meeting previously held in Jakarta.
Retno further explained that several ministries as a team will conduct the visit. The team includes Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Ministry of Trade, and Ministry of Industry.
As a follow-up meeting of the U.S Vice President Michael Richard Pence and Indonesia Vice PresidentJusuf Kalla in Shangri-La Hotel, President Donald Trump will attend ASEAN Summit (KTT) on November 2017 to show his commitment to support the security, stability and economic cooperation in Southeast Asia.
"We really appreciate his decision," she said.
