Ridwan Kamil Predicts Delay in Jakarta-Bandung Bullet Train Works

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil has predicted a delay in the operations of Jakarta-Bandung bullet train project until 2020.

“I have met Mr. President. He indicates 2020, delayed from an initial target of 2019,” said Ridwan Kamil at Shangri-La Hotel in Central Jakarta on Thursday, April 20, 2017.

Pressed about the reasons behind such delay, Ridwan Kamil said: “I don’t know, you may ask Mr. President,” he said.

Ridwan explained that the land clearing for the bullet train project is ongoing. “Land clearing is ongoing. Alhamdulillah [Thank God], there is no problem.”

On the other hand, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi that Jakarta-Bandung bullet train project is running on time. He has yet to receive information on any delay.
