TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After visiting President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace, US Vice President Mike Pence immediately headed to the Vice Presidential Palace.
In a 30-minutes long meeting, VP Pence and VP Jusuf Kalla discussed economic and political cooperation between the two countries, among others.
"America wants a bilateral relation, not multilateral," Jusuf Kalla said at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta, on Thursday, April 20, 2017.
After the meeting, Kalla said that both parties agreed to discuss the most appropriate cooperation strategy as soon as possible. In the field of politics, Indonesia is ready to cooperate with the United States. VP Jusuf Kalla asserted that the cooperation is possible because Indonesia is not ideologically aligned to any block.
Kalla added that Pence did not discuss about PT Freeport Indonesia. "Ihave said that it [Freeport] is already settled," Kalla said.A
