TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Commission on Human Rights Commissioner (KOMNAS HAM), Maneger Nasution, attended two voting stations (TPS) at West Jatinegara low-cost flats (rusun) in East Jakarta. Maneger arrived at TPS 33 and TPS 34 to ensure that voters can exercise their voting rights properly.
"Especially for people who are in the vulnerable group," Maneger said on Wednesday, April 19, 2017.
Maneger argued that residents of West Jatinegara Apartment are considered as a vulnerable group since they are the people who have been evicted from Kampung Pulo housing slums.
Maneger said that the voting ballots were up to state standards and also admitted that he has no worries about the situation at TPS 33 and TPS 34.
Maneger reminded TPS organizers to stay professional and neutral during the voting procession. Maneger also reminded the citizens of Jakarta to use their voting rights, respect each other, and not spark any form of provocation in order to preserve the current conducive state of the city.
