TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia ranks in the 90th position for the Asia-Pacific countries included in the Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI) 2017. Indonesia’s position is considerably lower compared to Singapore and Malaysia who respectively placed in the second and 28th spot.
Based on the index, Indonesia is placed below Vietnam and Sri Lanka in 86th and 82nd respectively.
GTCI is an annual report regarding a country’s ability to produce new talents and human resources to compete on the global stage especially in their technological advancement and future employments.
The report is supported by INSEAD The Business School for the World, Human Capital Leadership Institute and The Adecco Group.
“This annual report also highlights the essential role of education. An educational system must be able to change and assist students in developing their learning agility and adaptability,” said INSEAD Dean, Ilian Mihov, on Tuesday, April 17, 2017.
Meanwhile, Executive Director of the global index at INSEAD who’s also the co-writer of the report assessed that China and India who each scored 54 and 92, still face a considerably huge challenge, especially their ability to produce new talents.
