TEMPO.CO, Lhokseumawe - Dozens of Tanoh Anoe Village residents in East Aceh rallied in front of the Aceh Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) building on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
The villagers complained about how PT Medco is operating in their village, while none of their residents are employed by the company.
Asril, one of the protesters, said PT Medco EP Malaka has been operating in East Aceh Blok A for three years, with an office at their village. However, none of the workers are residents of other cities or villages.
"Their office is in our village, but their workers are all outsiders," Asril said.
Asril demanded Medco to employ the villagers and pay more attention to the village's development.
Irwanda, secretary of Aceh parties faction at the East Aceh Regional Legislative Council (DPRD), said the council will have accepted the complaints and will summon PT Medco.
