TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Angola shows their interest in purchasing Indonesian made airplanes and trains. Angola’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti, says that Angola hopes that they would be able to initiate a partnership with Indonesia.
“Angola essentially needs these machineries, which is why I think it’s important for both countries to initiate a partnership,” said Chikoti following a meeting with Vice President Jusuf Kalla on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
Chikoti explained that his visit to Indonesia is to open up an opportunity for both countries to collaborate. He also mentioned the ongoing partnership between the two countries in a number of sectors, such as oil, steel, chemical products, and palm oil.
“Angola would like to expand the economy in the field of agriculture and establish a number of industries,” Chikoti said.
Angolan government also hopes that both countries can engage in student transfers in the technical area, in hopes that their students and workers can learn from Indonesia’s experience in developing certain industries.
