TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian, reminded members of the police institution to always be cautious considering that the recent attacks by terrorist group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) are considered as acts of vengeance.
"I also ask for Special Counter-Terrorism Detachment 88 and Regional Polices to work together in probing for other cells that might conduct any retaliation. I have also urged regional police to keep remain cautious," Tito said on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
Tito explained that the Banyumas case is related to the arrest of a JAD figure in Lamongan. Tito says that the attack against the police happened after JAD cells were mobilized by their core.
"That's why the Tuban shootings happened, a traffic police was shot, but thank God the bullet missed," Tito said.
"The previous incident was also connected to Lamongan and Tuban," Tito explained.
Police search revealed a plan to construct a bomb that would be made from cooking utensils. "So I think this is linked with ISIS," Tito stated.
