TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of the Vice Presidential Expert Staff Sofyan Wanandi, said that the delays experienced by the 10,000 Megawatt electricity project currently highlighted by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) could be caused by the fact that the project was actually not feasible.
"The delays experienced by the project may be because it is not feasible," Sofyan said on Monday, April 10, 2017.
Therefore, Sofyan said that not all problematic power plant project needs to be scrapped. Sofyan also added that it is possible that the State Electricity Company's (PLN) work partner had experienced trouble.
For example, Sofyan said that one of PLN's problematic work partners was apparent in the steam-powered power plant project in Waai, Ambon. Sofyan asserted that the project delays was mainly caused by the contractor's mismanagement.
Sofyan provided his statement in response to the BPK's audit result on the 10,000 Megawatt electricity project, which has fallen behind its supposed deadline. Sofyan asserted that PLN should follow up BPK's audit result by conducting a thorough evaluation.
