TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Car parts and accessories made in Sidoarjo, East Java, are being supplied to Ukraine. The export was made to happen after two cities, Sidoarjo and Ukraine's Kremenchuk, signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for a "Sister City" cooperation.

The LoI was signed by Sidoarjo Regent Saiful Ilah and Kremenchuk Deputy Mayor Volodymyr Pelypenko. Both officials agreed to establish concrete cooperation between the two cities.

Frass Kamasa the Economic Affairs officer at the Indonesian Embassy in Kyiv, told Antara in London, Monday that Sidoarjo Regent was on a working visit to Ukraine from March 29 to 31. The visit was the Indonesia Embassy's way to promote and market Indonesian products in Kremenchuk.

According to Saiful Ilah, the visit was under the Embassy's invitation to participate in the Ukraine International Travel & Tourism (UITT). During his trip, he also held meetings with the Kremenchuk city administration as well as local businesses.

Kremenchuk is located some 290 kilometers from Ukraine capital, Kyiv. It is one of the largest heavy industrial cities in Ukraine.

Ukraine has 86 large industrial enterprises, including the Kraz Truck Plant, a producer of trucks and special purpose vehicles.

This year marks Indonesia's 25th year of diplomatic relations with Ukraine. In 2017, Indonesia has also set to carry out numerous activities in Kremenchuk, including a joint project to improve economic programs between Indonesia and Kremenchuk.
