TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian young racing driver Sean Gelael has been named Toro Rosso test driver for Formula 1 2017 season.
Toro Rosso Twitter account on Wednesday, March 22, said Sean Gelael will be its test driver in Bahrain, Hungary and Abu Dhabi.
“Welcome Sean! He will be our test driver in Bahrain, Hungary and Abu Dhabi,” F1’s Toro Rosso tweeted.
Sean Gelael performed well in formula 2 last season, finishing 15th in the final standing and achieving runner-up position in GP2 Austria.
Together with his partner Norman Nato, Gelael completed Catalunya testing before being named Toro Rosso test driver.
