Moazzam Malik explained that the Caledonian Sky cruise ship is, in fact, owned by a Swedish company, whereas the captain of the ship is also a U.S. citizen that does not live in the U.K.
According to the British Ambassador, if the Indonesian Government demands some clarification from the captain of the ship regarding the incident, they must contact the company that employs the captain. “As I understand, the ship’s operator has settled the matter with the Indonesian Government.”
Moazzam Malik revealed that the British government supports the steps taken by Indonesia regarding the investigation of this case. He also hopes that both parties can reach an agreement soon. “I told Pak Luhut that I would be glad if I could assist the process of the investigation.”
Moreover, the British Ambassador stated that he regrets over the incident in Raja Ampat. “As I’m upset with other environmental damages across the globe,” he said.
