TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, rejected a pretrial request filed by former State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan in relation to a graft allegation surrounding the electric car project.
"The exception filed by the appealant cannot be accepted. [The court] rejects the pretrial lawsuit,' South Jakarta District Court judge Made Sutrisna said.
Made viewed that evidence submitted to name Dahlan as a suspect had been in accordance with the procedures. Two evidence used by the Prosecutor's Office to charge Dahlan had been met as mentioned by the Supreme Court's verdict for defendant Dasep Ahmadi, director of PT Sarimas Ahmadi Pratama.
Dahlan was named as a suspect, along with Dasep Ahmadi, for allegedly involved in the graft case. The suspect naming was based on a verdict for Dasep stating that Dasep was proven to have committed a corruption crime causing Rp 17 billion (US$1.3 million) in state losses.
Dasep's company was directly appointed by Dahlan to work on the electric car project. The Supreme Court viewed that the direct appointment was against Presidential Decree No. 54/2010 on the procurement of government goods and services.
