TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hundreds of personnel with help from residents of RW 07, Rawamangun, East Jakarta collecting trash in the neighborhood.
The Jakarta City Environments Dept. Head, Isnawa Adji, said his side appreciated the activity that was held by Rawamangun Parish Church. He hoped this activity will raise citizen awareness towards cleanliness.
"This is an example that trash handling is our responsibility. Not only government who responsible, but all of us," he said, Saturday (3/4).
According to him, the collecting trash work was from Jl. Balai Pustaka, Jl. Waru, Jl. Paus, to Jl. Pemuda. From this activity, around 3 tons of trash were sorted. For trash that have economical value will be sold to Church's trash bank. While the rest of the trash will be disposed to Bantar Gerbang.
"Let us all keep our environment clean. Starting from family, RT/RW, and another communities to teach each other about trash handling," he closed.
