TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni campaign team manager Nachrowi Ramli said that the political parties who endorse Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno have asked the Democratic Party to join them ahead of the run-off election for Jakarta governor.
“Yes. We will think about it,” Nachrowi said yesterday in Jakarta, as quoted by the news agency Antara.
Nachrowi said that the Democratic Party will first and foremost study the vision and mission of the two remaining tickets before making any decision to coalesce with either of them.
“To coalesce with either ticket, of the remaining two, it is important to [join] the one who share the same vision and mission,” he explained.
Nachrowi said that the Democratic Party will ask other three parties who endorsed Agus-Sylvi in the gubernatorial race: the United Development Party (PPP), the National Awakening Party (PKB) and National Mandate Party (PAN) to mull over the decision.
Quick count results show that Basuki Tjahaja Purnama-Djarot Saiful Hidayat and Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno tickets have garnered vote tallies that would allow them to compete in a run-off.
Agus-Sylvi had been falling behind in the vote tally and had recently conceded defeat.
