TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The leader of National Movement to Safeguard the Indonesian Ulema Council Edicts (GNPF-MUI) Bachtiar Nasir will not comply with Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) summons for questioning over alleged money laundering.
“[Bachtiar] will be questioned on Thursday at 10 am. Not today,” Bachtiar’s lawyer Kapitra Ampera told Tempo on Monday, February 13, 2017.
Reports said earlier that Bachtiar Nasir would undergo questioning this morning, following his Friday’s interrogation.
However, the National Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Martinus Sitompul said that he could yet confirm whether Bachtiar’s questioning had been rescheduled.
Bachtiar was allegedly involved in laundering a foundation’s funds to its advisors, executive officers, and supervisors.
The said foundation allegedly accommodated public donations in the so-called Defend Islam II and III rallies on November 4 and December 2 that demand prosecution of Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama.
