TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Eight ministries and state institutions have signed a memorandum of understanding on the implementation of an online integrated case administration system (SPPT TI) initiated by the Coordinating Political, Legal and Security ministry.
Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Minister Wiranto said that the system was initiated to expedite case processing that is currently handled manually.
"We must utilize technology to process cooperation between institutions," Wiranto said during the MoU signing at his office in Jakarta on Monday, February 13, 2017.
Signing the MoU, in addition to the Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Ministry, were the Law and Human Rights Ministry, the Communications and Information Ministry, the National Development Planning Agency, the National Police, the Attorney General's Office (AGO), and the National Encryption Agency (Lemsaneg). The MoU is mandated by Presidential Instruction No. 10/2016 on Corruption Prevention and Eradication.
Five provinces will start implementing the SPPT TI, namely Jakarta, West Java, East Java, North Sumatra, and South Sulawesi.
After the MoU signing, the ministries and institutions conducted the first case exchange, which is expected to initiate efficient case processing.
"Public can access [the information] so that they will know which case that has been closed by the law enforcers," Wiranto explained.
Wiranto admitted that it would take time and resources to implement the system across the country.
"It's a new system. We can by the tools, but it won't be easy to train their operators," Wiranto said.
