TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Amidst the issue of the credibility of the judges of the Constitutional Court (MK) following the arrest of MK Judge Patrialis Akbar by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), former MK Judge for the period of 2013-2015 Hamdan Zoelva commented on the issue.
"I believe that in giving a ruling of a case, MK remains independent and is not influenced by external factors. This incident serves as a lesson for other judges to be more careful and to keep their integrity,” Hamdan said.
Commenting on the replacement of Patrialis Akbar as well as the plan to evaluate the recruitment system of MK Judges, Hamdan hopes that code of ethics and code of conduct that MK has is enough as the guideline or the standard behavior of MK judges both at the court and outside the court.
"However, reminding each other to keep the integrity is very important thing to do,” he said.
