TEMPO.CO, Depok - Treason suspect Firza Husein refused to comply with police questioning at the Police's Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) Headquarters in Depok. “Firza is currently feeling ill and refused to be questioned tonight,” said Firza’s lawyer Aziz Yanuar on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
Firza said that she would not provide any statements until she is assisted by her legal representative. “Up to today, we are not able to enter Brimob headquarters to accompany Firza; since [the Police said] the investigation report (BAP) is not ready yet,” he said.
Firza had appointed five legal team members to handle her alleged treason case, namely Aziz Yanuar, Yanto Apriyanto, Noviynto Sumantri, Mirza Zulkarnaen, and Achmad Ardiansya.
Police had only confiscated Firza Husein’s mobile phone. She is yet to be visited by her family since her arrest from her parent’s residence in Pondok Gede, East Jakarta.
“Firza wants to take a rest and not be questioned. Maybe tomorrow,” Aziz said.
The arrest of Firza Husein at Brimob headquarters is purely based on her alleged case of treason. Aziz Yanuar said that the allegation that is directed to his client has insufficient evidence. “We reject that allegation. The evidence is forced and non-existent,” he said.
