TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution attended a high-level meeting on inflation control held by Bank Indonesia (BI) on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
“We were discussing inflation control, particularly throughout this year. We will focus on administered prices and volatile foods,” Darmin said after the meeting at the BI Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
Darmin revealed that the government would continue to maintain the inflation rate this year to be as low as 3.02 percent in 2016.
Earlier, Agus reminded that several commodities would trigger inflation, as well as the removal of electricity subsidy for 900 VA customers and vehicle administration fee hikes.
Based on a survey, BI reported that the inflation rate in the third week of January 2017 reached 0.67 percent. BI also estimated that the inflation rate this year would stand at 3.19 percent.
