MNC Steps Up Development of Trump-linked Projects in Indonesia

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - MNC Group confirms that development of a resort and amusement park in West Java’s Lido and a hotel in Bali’s Tanah Lot linked to US President-elect Doland Trump will go according to plan. “Everything has gone well so far, but we will step it up,” the MNC Group corporate secretary Safril Nasution said yesterday.
MNC expects that development of a golf course in Lido, which was agreed in August 2015, to complete this year. The overall project in Lido is scheduled to complete by 2018. The two ambitious projects are touted to be the best resorts in Asia. PT MNC Land Tbk will become a partner of in the project ran by The Trump Organization.
Syafril said that MNC Group owner Hary Tanoesoedibijo will attend Donald Trump’s inauguration in Washington DC tomorrow. Hary had planned to meet with Donald Trump’s sons Donald Trump Junior and Eric Trump to hold talks about the Rp20 trillion projects.
“It’s my duty to ensure that everything goes well,” Hary said on Tuesday, as quoted by ABC News. The Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo) chairman is confident that the meeting will be a successful one. The project in Lido will also engage South Korea-based Korea Land and Housing to support agriculture tourism and housing development.
Hary is one of few Indonesians invited to Donald Trump’s inauguration. “If asked, I will do anything to help the country [Indonesia]. Basically, I will not make the initiatives,” he said.
