TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Metro Jaya Police suggested the Maritime Higher Education Institution (STIP) in Marunda to change their physical development system following the death of the Institution's freshman. Police said that the recent fatal incident was not the first to occur.
"Another fatal incident has occurred, again and [we’re] coordinating with the school to change its physical training system,” said Jakarta Metro Police Chief Insp. Gen. Mochammad Iriawan on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.
Amirullah Adityas Putra (18) died with bruises on his body. Reports said that Amirullah suffered injuries on his chest and upper stomach after number of seniors asaaulted him on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
Five second year STIP students has been named as suspects. Chief of Cilincing Sector Police Comr. Ali Yuzron stated that four of the suspects admitted that they had assaulted Amirullah. Meanwhile, one person was hitting on Amir's friend moments before the incident took place.
There are five freshmen that were also assaulted. "It took place after the freshmen students were practicing marching band," Ali said.
