OJK Clamps Down on Six Illegal Investment Companies

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Investment Awareness Task Force discovered six companies allegedly offering illegal investments that are potentially fraudulent. In a press release on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, the OJK and the Investment Awareness Task Force have declared that the investment companies are illegal and ordered them to shut down their businesses to protect public from fraudulent investments.

The six companies are:

1. PT Compact Sejahtera Group, Compact500 or Koperasi Bintang Abadi Sejahtera or ILC 2. PT Inti Benua Indonesia 3. PT Inlife Indonesia 4. Koperasi Segitiga Bermuda or Profitwin77 5. PT Cipta Multi Bisnis Group 6. PT Mi One Global Indonesia

The OJK and the task force had been watching the six companies since they disseminated information via social media accounts and mass media. Based on investigation results and applicable Law, the OJK and the task force declared that the six companies must immediately stop their business activities.

The OJK and the task force called on public to ensure that companies offering investment products have obtained proper business license from appropriate authorities, and that they have been registered as marketing partners.
