TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Setya Novanto visited the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building to be examined by investigators as a witness in the electronic identification card (e-KTP) project bribery case.
After a four-hour investigation, Setya said to the media that investigators had only asked him about his role as the chief of a DPR fraction. "[The questions] were to clarify [my role] as the chief of DPR fraction," Setya said on Tuesday, January 10, 2017.
Previously, KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo said that investigators were planning to dig deeper through Setya's testimony in previous investigations.
Agus added that Setya's testimony is needed to find other parties involved in the bribery case. "Let the investigators gather [more information] and meet with other parties," Agus said.
Setya's name has been included in the KPK's list since August 2013, when KPK investigators met with Paulus Tannos, Director of PT Sanipala Arthaputra, in Singapore. Sandipala Putra was one of the companies incorporated in the e-KTP consortium.
